White Wagyu Semen

The rare luminent/dilution gene in Wagyu has yielded a wonderful Homozygous Luminent White Fullblood Wagyu bull in 2018. “Tam”, CLV Shiroi Tamamaru AuWA#CLVFP02F, was a very fast growth bull and the foundation patriarch of the White Wagyu line. Genetically he is 3/4 Akaushi line Wagyu and 1/4 Tajima Black line Wagyu. He is grandnephew of the highest red marbling bull in the AmWA 2017 Sire Summary, IWG Umemaru whose full brother was SOR Unzen and his black Tajima line genetics is naturally high marbling. It would take just 2 generations to get started in White Wagyu from blacks. All would be Heterozygous luminent having 1 luminent gene from Tam and the second generation using another White bull would yield 50% white Homozygous luminents and 50% Blonde luminents. Though if Red Wagyu were used some red colored luminents would be in the mix. But WHY switch over to Whites and Blondes? Exceptional heat resistance. White coated bovines versus black coated bovines can have as much as a 2 degree cooler internal temperature. Conceptions in high heat is better, no pond wading to get hoof rot, and often less flies for less pink eye. They tend to keep grazing and gaining weight while blacks sit in the shade or pond. Limited supply of only 10 straws allowed per customer at $50/straw for regular semen and $75/Straw for Bull plus.
