The Texas Wagyu Association (TWA) is proud to announce the North American Wagyu Zenkyo, taking place at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Brenham, Texas. This event will showcase the very best in Black Wagyu and Akaushi cattle, bringing together breeders, ranchers, and enthusiasts for a one-of-a-kind celebration of genetics, performance, and tradition.

A Unified Effort

For the first time, the American Akaushi Association and Texas Wagyu Association are joining forces. Their partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing Wagyu genetics, promoting breeder success, and creating opportunities for youth and professionals alike to showcase their animals.

Competition Highlights

Carcass Ultrasound Competition
Awards will be presented to the top-performing bulls, females, and steers in each breed based on carcass ultrasound results. This competition provides valuable insight into marbling potential and carcass merit—critical benchmarks for Wagyu breeders.

Open & Junior Shows
Exhibitors will compete in both open and junior divisions across multiple categories:

  • Fullblood Akaushi
  • Fullblood Black Wagyu
  • Purebred (93.75% or higher)
  • Percentage (46.87% to 93.74%)

This structure ensures opportunities for breeders at every level while giving the next generation of cattlemen and women the spotlight to show their skills and animals.

Registration & Eligibility

Animals entered must be registered and DNA parent-verified with one of the following:

  • American Akaushi Association
  • Australian Wagyu Association
  • American Wagyu Association

Entries open September 1, 2025.

Beyond The Show Ring

The North American Wagyu Zenkyo will be more than just a cattle show—it’s a full celebration of Wagyu culture:

  • Food Demonstrations: Chefs will showcase Wagyu’s versatility through live cooking demos, highlighting preparation techniques and flavor profiles that set Wagyu apart.
  • Tradeshow: Industry vendors will be on-site offering genetics, equipment, technology, and services tailored to Wagyu breeders and beef producers.
  • Food Trucks: A variety of Wagyu-inspired entrées—from gourmet burgers to high-end steak plates—will give attendees the chance to taste the breed’s renowned quality firsthand.
