Weise Farms - Serbin, Texas

Nestled in the rolling countryside of Serbin, Texas, Weise Farms is a true testament to Texas farming and ranching heritage. Established in 1854 as part of The Wends of Texas, the Weise family have worked the same land for nearly 170 years, with the 7th generation now growing up on the farm. Today, Becky and Tim Weise continue this proud tradition, stewarding approximately 500 acres on four parcels of land in Lee and Fayette County, while blending history with innovation through their Wagyu program.

From Meat to Genetics

The Weises began their Wagyu journey eight years ago, initially focusing on producing beef for their local community. Over time, their passion grew, and they expanded into genetics and breed stock development. Their program includes carefully selected animalsTheir very first Wagyu bull came from Bubba KayRecently they have purchased an Arubial United bull from Kenny Landgrafand an Itoguni heifer from Jess Wyndford to launch them into their plans for elite wagyu genetics.

Currently, their Wagyu herd numbers around 25 head, alongside their existing Angus herd. By pairing careful breeding decisions with a commitment to quality, Weise Farms is positioning itself as both a trusted source of premium Wagyu beef and a contributor to the next generation of genetics in the breed.

A Life of Hard Work and Dedication

For Tim, hard work has been a lifelong calling. At just 14 years old, he started with a small company, where he has now worked for an incredible 52 years, rising through the ranks to become an engineer. Becky has her own story of entrepreneurship, beginning at the age of five when she started selling farm-fresh eggs—a tradition she proudly continues today. She also works for the local newspapernearing 16 years, further rooting the family within the community.

Married for 42 years, Tim and Becky raised two children and now enjoy being grandparents to five grandchildren—all of whom live within five miles of the farm. This closeness ensures that the family legacy of farming and ranching remains strong and deeply connected.

Innovation Beyond the Beef

While raising Wagyu beef is their passion, the Weises are equally committed to ensuring that no part of the animal goes to waste. Their online store has become very successful, offering free local deliveries and now shipping nationwide as well. Alongside premium cuts of Wagyu beef, they’ve also developed unique value-added products that make full use of the animal.

From tallow face cream to tallow and goat’s milk soaps, their creativity reflects a belief in maximizing the benefits of every animal they raise. They even use Wagyu tallow as a versatile cooking substitute for lard, butter, oil, and shortening, bringing traditional practices into modern kitchens.

Rooted in Tradition, Looking to the Future

Becky and Tim Weise embody the spirit of Texas ranching—grounded in tradition, strengthened by family, and always looking ahead. With nearly two centuries of stewardship on their land and a growing role in the Wagyu community, Weise Farms is both honoring its past and building a sustainable, innovative future.
