We’re less than seven weeks out from the 2026 Wagyu Zenkyo North America, and the full event schedule is officially out. Before we get to that, a quick heads-up: carcass contest entries close this Thursday, October 1. If you’ve been meaning to get one in, now’s the time.
Get your kids involved
This year, Zenkyo is putting a big spotlight on the next generation, and we couldn’t be happier about it. If you’ve got kids or grandkids who love being around the cattle, this is a great place for them to get their start in the show ring.
Saturday morning kicks off with the Junior Show, followed by Youth Showmanship. And here’s the best part: showmanship entries are free. It’s hands-on learning in front of real judges, and it builds the kind of confidence and responsibility that stays with a kid long after the ribbons are handed out.
Most of us got into this business because somebody took the time to bring us along. Zenkyo is a chance to do the same for the young folks in your life.
Here’s how the weekend shapes up
Thursday, November 12: Cattle move-in, arrival, and check-in from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday, November 13: Association meetings run through the day, along with the Commercial Bull Pen Show, the Pen of 3 Heifer Show, and the Open Show that afternoon. The Steak Contest and Ultrasound Contest wrap up the evening.
Saturday, November 14: The Junior Show starts at 9 a.m., followed by Youth Showmanship. Everyone’s invited to the Meet the Associations Lunch at noon, and the weekend ends with the Awards Dinner and Closing Ceremony at 7 p.m.
Sunday, November 15: All cattle released by noon.
Don’t wait on your entries
The general livestock entry deadline is November 1, and all animals must be registered and DNA parent-verified. The online entry system lets you register multiple animals and pay in one place, and it only takes a few minutes. You can find the full show rules and entry forms at wagyuzenkyo.com.
